December 13, Tuesday
Today I went for another 3-mile run in the late afternoon. My Garmin watch was a little erratic. So I didn’t get the first mile time. Mile two was 11:30 and mile three was 11:01. Tonight my legs and my body are feeling a little used up. This is the first three consecutive days of running that I have attempted in months. So this is not very surprising. Once again my heart rate at the end of the run was in the 150s and dropped to 120 BPM within two minutes.
I am continuing to work on running with shorter, quicker strides rather than extending my stride. More and more of what I am reading suggests that many foot injuries are a product of an extended stride. This is especially troublesome for +70Runners. So far it seems to be working out well, no foot issues.
It looks like tomorrow will be a good day for an indoor workout at the club. A little rest for the legs……..Some time in the weight room, a short swim and a treat in the hot whirlpool seems perfect for the day before my cataract procedure.
